Criminal Minds’ Garcia & Reid Actors Reunite To Celebrate Matthew Gray Gubler’s Book

Summary

  • Kirsten Vangsness supports Matthew Gray Gubler’s new book and shares adorable reunion photos on Twitter.
  • Gubler’s possible return as Spencer Reid in Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2 remains unclear, but he has been spotted with his former co-stars.
  • Despite the uncertainty, Reid’s return has increased chances due to his ongoing involvement with the BAU and Gubler’s great relationship with his cast mates.

Kirsten Vangsness and Matthew Gray Gubler have an adorable Criminal Minds reunion in honor of his new book. In playing original BAU teammates Penelope Garcia and Spencer Reid, the pair worked together for 15 years in the CBS police procedural. Unfortunately, Gubler did not join Vangsness and the majority of the main cast for Criminal Minds: Evolution season 1, the recent Paramount+ revival, so it’s always a treat whenever he is spotted with his old co-stars.Criminal Minds' Garcia and Reid

On her Twitter, Vangsness supports the release of Gubler’s new book, The Little Kid with the Big Green Hand, by sharing snippets from their recent reunion. Check out the adorable images below:

Vangsness’ post features a cute snap of Gubler holding his new book and another one with them together. In an additional post on Instagram, Vangsness added that she is “proud of her friend and the way he shares his genius.”

Will Matthew Gray Gubler’s Reid Finally Come Back In Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2?

Reid in Criminal Minds

Much has been said about Gubler’s possible return in Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2. It’s still unclear where Reid was while the BAU hunted down Sicarius and his network of serial killers; however, it has been made clear that he remains a member of Emily Prentiss’ team, he’s just busy with other matters. This makes it fairly easy to bring him back if Gubler decides to partake in the Paramount+ project.

In recent months, Gubler has been publicly spotted with a couple of his former Criminal Minds co-stars. Before his meet-up with Vangsness, he and Dave Rossi actor Joe Mantegna also crossed paths and even had dinner. There was no mention of having any discussions about Reid’s comeback in Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2. However, there’s a good chance the subject came up, though there is no way to know for sure.

Whether Reid will be in Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2 is still uncertain. However, between Reid still being a part of the BAU and Gubler’s great relationship with his old cast mates, it wouldn’t be difficult to bring him back into the Paramount+ show. In any case, there’s no rush for the actor to decide on the matter since the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes have delayed season 2 indefinitely.
